Working group set up to investigate severe malnutrition in HIV
An African-based working group now exists to examine the impact of the HIV virus on severely malnourished children.
In Southern and Eastern Africa the Blantyre Working Group on the management of severely malnourished HIV-infected children was established in January 2007. This links experts in Malawi, Uganda, Kenya, Zambia, Tanzania and South Africa. The group advocate that differences in clinical presentation, pathophysiology, and outcome between HIV-infected and non-infected children require multi-centre studies and a review of case-management guidelines.

How does one become a member of this working group?
